The whole process happens on one screen, working through three sections in order: pick your actor, choose a voice, write your script.

How to Get There

Click “Content Studio” in the left menu. On the “What will you create?” screen, select “Realistic Actor Video.”

Step 1: Choose Your Actor

You’ll land on the actor selection screen with two tabs: “HeyOz Actors” and “My Actors.” Browse the HeyOz Actors library and click on any actor to see a preview on the right side of the screen. If you’ve saved custom actors previously, switch to the “My Actors” tab to find them. Click “Show All” on the left side to expand the full library if you want more options beyond what’s shown by default. Once you’ve selected an actor, a preview image appears on the right panel. You’ll also see an “Edit Actor” button in the top right corner of the preview — use this if you want to adjust the actor’s appearance, outfit, background, or add props before generating the video.

Step 2: Choose a Voice

Below the actor selection, you’ll see a row of voice options. Each one shows the voice name, gender, and the number of available styles. Click the play button next to any voice to preview it. Click “See all voices” to browse the full ElevenLabs voice library, which includes filters for accent, tone, style, and gender. Select the voice that fits your script and brand tone best.

Step 3: Write Your Script

The third section asks “What will your actor say?” You can write your script directly in the text field, or click “Generate Script with AI” to have HeyOz draft one based on your product. If you go the AI route, you can ask it to rewrite the script in a specific style afterward, which is more conversational, more formal, Gen Z tone, humorous, and so on. The script field supports expression tags, which appear as colored labels in the text (for example, [excited], [laughing], [speaking confidently], [warm, genuine]). These tags tell the voice model how to deliver specific lines. Use “Add Expression” from the toolbar above the text field to insert them, or type them manually. You can also use “Add Pause” to control pacing, and “Voice Settings” to adjust delivery at a global level. The right panel has four additional script tools you can expand: Write in Any Language, Write Naturally, Add Emotion, and Polish the Script. These are worth using if your first draft needs refinement before generating audio. If you want to adjust the tone with a quick instruction, use the “Enhance your script” field at the bottom and type a note like “Add humor to my script.” “Auto Enhance” is also available as a one-click option that applies general improvements to the script automatically. Once the script is in good shape, click “Generate Audio.”

Step 4: Review Your Audio

Audio generation usually takes a few seconds. When done, you’ll see a “Audio generated successfully” notification and a waveform player appears below the script. Click play to listen through the full voiceover. If the delivery is off somewhere, edit the script directly, adjust the expression tags, or try a different voice and regenerate. You can regenerate as many times as needed. Previous versions are accessible via “View History” above the script field. When you’re satisfied with the audio, click “Create Video.” The token cost is shown on the button.

Step 5: Review Your Generated Video

HeyOz redirects you to My Creations. The new video appears at the top of the list with a “Processing” status and a progress percentage. Once complete, click the video to open the preview panel. The video plays directly in the panel so you can watch through it before taking any action. From the preview panel you can:
  • Open Video Editor to trim the video, add text overlays, insert scenes, adjust captions, or make any other edits before publishing.
  • Redo Creation to generate a fresh version with the same settings.
  • Post Now to publish directly to your connected social accounts.
  • Download to save the file locally.
  • Delete to remove it from your creations.

Tips for Better Results

Expression tags make a real difference. A script without them sounds flat compared to one where specific lines are tagged with emotions. Take a few minutes to add them, especially on the hook and the closing line. If the actor’s appearance matters for your brand (outfit, background, props), use “Edit Actor” before generating the video rather than trying to fix it afterward. Shorter scripts tend to produce tighter, more watchable videos. If your script runs long, trim it down before generating audio, the lip-sync holds up better on concise delivery. Generated videos are saved automatically to My Creations and can be edited or reposted anytime.
